In 1985 the Richmond Community Services Centre Society was formed and began raising the capital funds to build Richmond Caring Place. With the support of business, government and the people of Richmond, that task was completed in 1994. At that time, Richmond Caring Place Society (RCPS) was formed.
The Richmond Caring Place Society has the responsibility to efficiently manage the facility to ensure optimum coordination and synergistic benefits for the tenant agencies and users of Richmond Caring Place.
The Richmond Caring Place provides office space exclusively for non-profit agencies. The Richmond Caring supports non-profit agencies their staff and volunteers as they work to improve the lives of Richmond residents and enrich the social fabric of the City.
The Richmond Caring Place is unique in Canada, it was purpose built to provide commercial office and meeting space for non-profit agencies. The Richmond Caring Place Society , which operates the Richmond Caring Place, is a non- profit, charitable organization, focused on providing an efficiently and accountably managed multi-use building for the benefit of social agencies in delivering services and enhancing the quality of life of residents.
Currently, the Richmond Caring Place is home to 10 non-profit agencies and programs, who can provide their clients with coordinated, accessible services in one central location. As a community hub the Richmond Caring Place ensures collaboration and synergy of service provision for residents with access to resources that enhance the quality of life for the community of Richmond.
