Women's Wisdom Series (Women over 40)
May 2, 2026 10:00 AM - June 20, 2026 12:00 PM (PDT)
Description
BC Empowering Women's Voices Society officially incorporated in 2025. However, the adhoc womens programs have been unofficially running for over 3 years. Frequent feedback and testimonials are evidence of the need for more socialization and community connections that were significantly impacted by the pandemic.
The Women's Wisdom series takes place every other Saturday in Richmond.
Our Program: Gives women a safe, understanding space to talk about challenges, share experiences, and support each other. They serve several important purposes:
1. Emotional support 💬 Many women face pressures related to relationships, family roles, work expectations, or health. Support groups allow members to talk openly without judgment and receive encouragement from people who understand similar experiences.
2. Shared experiences 🤝 Women often deal with issues that others in the group may have gone through too—such as: •pregnancy or postpartum struggles •workplace discrimination •caregiving stress •relationship difficulties •recovery from trauma Hearing “you’re not alone” can be very powerful.
3. Mental health benefits 🧠 Support groups can help reduce feelings of: •isolation •anxiety •depression •stress Simply being heard and validated by peers can improve well-being.
4. Practical advice and resources 📚 Members often exchange useful information about: •coping strategies •healthcare or therapy options •legal or workplace resources •parenting or life skills
5. Empowerment and confidence 🌱 Program objectives include: Building self-esteem, independence, and leadership, helping women feel stronger and more capable in their personal and professional lives.
